Atelier Estate brings out Marzloff’s specialty in staying true to the Bali essentials. A distinctive Balinese style roof serves as a focal point and a grounding point for the building, rooted to its land. Both the client and Marzloff team draw inspiration from the rich architectural heritage of the Beraban village, embodying the calm and peace of rural and tropical living. It is infused with a subtle colonial style, it adds a touch of classic elegance to the modern design.

“We want to stick to the original archetype of this building and bring out the best of it., blending minimalist design principles to the authentic Bali living.”

To bring a touch of colonial design into this home without overpowering it, Marzloff uses colorful tiles—or tegel—on the backyard water feature, inspired by the drinking fountain in Italy. A unique feature is to have the spout decorated with a small Balinese statue.
